Severe metastatic pulmonary calcification

A 40-year-old woman with no smoking history presented with chief complaints of nausea and appetite loss. Her past history was significant for ovarian tumor resection. Her total serum calcium corrected for albumin was 20.9mg/dL. A parathyroid tumor was detected. Subsequently, she was transferred to our hospital and dialysis was initiated; however, her serum calcium level remained high. After tumor resection, she went into severe respiratory failure. Chest computed tomography (CT) showed diffused ground-glass appearance in the bilateral lung fields (figure, A) indicating pneumonia and acute respiratory distress.
