We read with interest the meta-analysis by Zhou et al1 on iron replacement in patients with heart failure and iron deficiency. These authors reported that intravenous iron reduced heart failure hospitalizations1; however, in attempting to replicate this analysis, we identified errors that substantively alter the results and conclusions. We provide details herein.
