Plasma Exchange Therapy in Postural Tachycardia Syndrome: A Novel Long-term Approach?

Established therapies for postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) are limited with moderate efficacy.1 Autoantibodies such as those directed against adrenergic, cholinergic and acetylcholine receptors have been identified from the plasma of patients with POTS.2, 3 We present the first published report of the benefits of long-term maintenance plasma exchange in a young woman with POTS.
