Tumor associated macrophages (TAMs) are host macrophages recruited by the tumor, which promote tumor progression. Researchers have discovered that the protein FROUNT may be linked to TAM regulation. By inhibiting FROUNT using an anti-alcoholism drug–disulfiram, it may be possible to disrupt tumor progression.
