Exercise treadmill testing remains a widely used method for detecting coronary artery disease. This test is based on characteristic exercise-induced electrocardiographic ST-segment depression to detect ischemia and determine the probability of obstructive coronary artery disease. In contrast to the frequency of ST-segment depression during exercise treadmill testing, ST elevation during this test is uncommon, and the initial appearance of this finding during the recovery phase of an exercise test is distinctly rare.
