We read with immense interest the article by Al Rifai et al highlighting the trends of e-cigarette use among multiple subgroups. Interestingly, the study did not reflect the pattern of significant increase in e-cigarette use among marijuana users.1 Vaping marijuana increased considerably in recent years alongside an overall increase in youth e-cigarette use.2,3 Recent reports on e-cigarette and vaping-associated lung injury (EVALI) have been linked to vaping marijuana. Based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data, 82% of patients hospitalized with EVALI reported use of products containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
