Foot Examination for Older Adults

The 82 year old patient with a past medical history of coronary artery disease, depression, visual and hearing impairment made his way slowly into the clinic room. He described two falls that had occurred in the preceding two weeks. The treating clinician performed a comprehensive assessment addressing organ systems and domains which may be related to falls including; orthostatic hypotension, osteoarthritis, glaucoma and polypharmacy. During history taking, the patient mentioned that his feet were painful with ambulation and when wearing shoes.
